Preparatory visit

Why should your school make a preparatory visit?

What is a preparatory visit?

As part of an Erasmus+ mobility project, a preparatory visit is a crucial step that precedes the official launch of the mobility project. It is a visit that enables representatives of an educational institution, such as a school or university, to visit the future host city to assess the possibilities and opportunities that this destination offers participating students.

Why make a preparatory visit?

  • To meet our organisation Espamob in order to establish a relationship of trust and answer any questions you may have
  • To visit host companies in Barcelona and assess their suitability for future mobility
  • Analyse learning and professional development opportunities for students
  • Establish solid, long-term partnerships with local educational institutions and companies
  • Visiting the accommodation to get a feel for the mobility experience
  • Discover the Catalan city and culture
  • Design a mobility project incorporating all the information gathered

Visite préparatoire

Example: Preparatory visit to the professional training school in Nicosia

This week, we had the opportunity to welcome the Nicosia professional training school in Cyprus. After discussing the mobility arrangements, we accompanied them to their accommodation for the period of their stay. We then visited several partner companies that will be hosting their students on work placements. Throughout the visit, we took the time to answer all their questions. As a result, the mobility scheme has been confirmed, and we look forward to welcoming them soon.

What did this visit achieve?

The preparatory visit to the Cyprus school in Barcelona was a crucial step in laying the foundations for their Erasmus+ mobility project. This experience enabled them to discover our partner companies, establish fruitful links with professionals in the sector and educational institutions, and identify the significant benefits that this opportunity will offer students. Through this mobility project, the Cyprus school will empower its students to become talented and open-minded professionals in any sector.
